    FORD V FERRARI

    Date:

I was really looking forward to this film, already knowing its back story and potential.
It begins in 1963 with a failed deal between Ford and Ferrari – the deal was for Ford to buy out Ferrari and use them to develop Ford’s non-existent racing team. Enzo Ferrari is too proud of his company to give it to a ‘greedy’ American company so he declines the offer. This is where the plot begins to develop as the Ford motor company – who feel insulted – decide on a bit of revenge. Their goal? To beat Ferrari in the LeMans 24hr car race, a race in which they are almost unbeaten. Matt Damon plays the legendary engineer Caroll Shelby and Christian Bale the celebrated race car driver Ken Miles. Together they make the best screen duo in a long time. It’s a fantastic story that I fell in love with instantly, my love of fast cars just made this movie even better. I can go on and on about how exhilarating this movie is, you feel like you’re in the driver’s seat going at full speed. You will be hooked all the way ‘til the final race, it’s a piece of history set in the 60’s so the period lovers will be ecstatic too. You simply can’t miss this one. I loved every bit of it and I know you all will too. Fast cars and a fantastic story will give you almost three hours of pure excitement.

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.
