So excited to see a new Bruce Beresford movie, made in Australia starring Brian Brown at his crusty best! Stephen Seary, a charismatic and successful stage designer, returns to his small home town in Australia to say goodbye to his dying mother.  What was to be a quick trip descends into chaos, drama, and at times downright funny moments as Stephen navigates family responsibilities, a difficult relationship with his curmudgeonly father, old friends & past lovers, all while trying to return to Europe for a major opera contract. A poignant, funny and heart warming family story.

SPRINGSTEEN: DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE

Rating: CTC
Director: Scott Cooper
Cast: Jeremy Allen White, Jeremy Strong, Paul Walter Hauser
Genre: Music, drama

I like music biopics that focus in depth on one small part of a career rather than trying to do a sweeping start to finish tale that inevitably is shallow… Here we take an in depth, nuanced look at Bruce Springsteen’s journey crafting his 1982 album Nebraska, which emerged as he recorded Born in the USA with the E Street Band. Based on Warren Zanes’ acclaimed book, a quietly told insight of a heartfelt album.

After meeting in a twin bereavement support group, Roman and Dennis develop an unlikely bromance as they both search for solace and an identity without their better halves.
