The artist-run cooperative, MREAM ArtSpace, is holding it’s most exciting exhibition yet: a celebration of the amazing artist Frida Kahlo.

Kahlo was a Mexican modernist and surrealist whose gorgeous and emotional self-portraits are loved by people all around the world. The exhibition features artists’ responses to Frida Kahlo’s work and life. From paintings through to performance, over fifty artists combine their creative interpretations for this exhibition.

Held at MREAM ArtSpace Gallery, 32 Hampstead Road, Maidstone; the opening night is Saturday 14 March 2020 from 6:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to come and view, and perhaps purchase a Frida Kahlo inspired artwork, and meet the artists. A people’s choice award will be announced at 7:30 pm. The show will be open from 1-4 pm on weekends until 5 April 2020.

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.
