FASHIONABLE PLACES TO EAT IN THE WEST

    Date:

When comes to eating out, finding a place isn’t that hard, but finding a place where you feel welcome and can enjoy good company, yet with great service is hard. We all love to try on new things – especially where food and fashion collide – so The Westsider’s resident celebrity Stylist Ramzy has picked a few local places where you can enjoy great food and wine.

    Anchorage Restaurant – Williamstown

Boasting magnificent views on the water’s edge, for more than thirty years Anchorage Restaurant in Williamstown has been the perfect venue for a business lunch, function or candle-lit dinner. Its well-known for its service (and nautical theme!), which makes unwinding all too easy; take a seat in the elegantly set interior or enjoy the serenity of the waterfront out on the deck. Complementing its surrounds, the menu highlights a selection of fresh seafood and much more. This is one of the must try places in your list.

    Copper Pot – Seddon

In the heart of Seddon, this is a place you always feel ‘invited’, serving many occasions – from casual brunch or after-work drinks with tapas, to a private dinner or celebration with friends. Copper Pot opened its doors a few months back, and this, Chef Ashley Davis’ first restaurant, is now one of the best places in the west to wine and dine. The menu roams through the village cuisine of Croatia, Poland and Germany along with the staples of France, Spain and Italy. It draws on tradition, yet is driven by sensibly sourced, local produce. The 50-seat restaurant’s interior echoes these European roots, with oxidised copper as a design element. If you want to take a short trip to Europe, this would be great place to be.

    LOLA – Seddon

In Charles Street Seddon you’ll find LOLA, a spot that offers the sort of lively brunch atmosphere that’s commonplace in Melbourne’s popular cafes. The coffee and food are worth waiting for, especially on a sunny morning. Inspired by Spanish and Portuguese Cuisine, it’s as simple as it sounds. French toast is a ‘must try’ on the menu along with Coconut Sorbet. Great friendly staff and the service is top notch.

    Station Hotel – Footscray

Yes, The Station Hotel is a pub, but not your average soggy-parma-and-pot kind of pub. The concept is simple – create a relaxed, informal pub environment with expertly prepared dishes using quality local ingredients, craft beer on tap and a small but interesting wine list. The key focus at The Station Hotel is to provide an accessible dining experience where technique and quality of produce is uncompromised. Oh, and the best steak and béarnaise sauce this side of town.

    Charles & Gamon

We all know this place as C & G. – a place which has much to offer. Whether it be a birthday, anniversary, engagement, going away or just a catch up with family and friends, they cover everything. The C & G aim is to bring something new and a little different to the inner-west with their modern, cutting edge menu, including canapés in the bar, a sit down dinner, or a spit roast in the courtyard. This is another great place to unwind with great atmosphere.
