    YCC CELEBRATING DIVERSITY THROUGH COOKING

    Date:

Yarraville Community Centre (YCC) have so many wonderful cooking classes on offer, but their Indian Street Food class coming up on 15 March is definitely a stand out. This class offers a cultural tour of Indian food and celebrations for HOLI, the famous festival of colours. Participants will receive a welcome drink and head into the kitchen to learn how to cook sumptuous street snacks for the occasion.

Discover the significance of the festival through stories and rituals in a festive atmosphere. Learn Mumbai’s famous Pav Bhaji, Dahi poori and Sweet Lassi (rosewater infused yogurt-based drink) along with cooking tips and tricks with Seema Choubey. Seema is a specialist in authentic North Indian cuisine, teaching cooking classes across Melbourne. Her teaching style is informal, hands on and she joyfully shares her skills, traditional cuisine and culture with all.

In addition to Indian Street Food, the Yarraville Community Centre celebrates many other culturally diverse classes; learn how to make Greek biscuits, Easter Sweet Breads and Cevapi, Lepinja (flat bread), Baklava and Russian baked Proshky and tea cakes.

Be sure to check out their website www.ycc.net.au or call the centre on 9687 1560 to enquire about availability.
