Williamstown Pier
We’re walking in a painting
pointillist blue and silver
gold and light
white-masted boats
diagonally splayed
fanning the water
if only: Chagall lovers
breeze giddy
ripples below our feet
you’re pulling me up
kites kissing the sun
a slow rising melody

Mixed Media
The fluorescent ball hangs low and heavy
as though punctuated by skyscrapers
fallen, it sits squat, burning
over a nursery of bobbing boats
lit in baby blue and pink pastels
rocked to sleep by tender waves
in the distance black swan smudges
in the foreground flickers like fire flies
on the pier respectful murmurings
and you and I? we’re silent witnesses
a brief by significant layer
forming right now in our lives’ crusts.
