Federal election housing scorecard:Where do your candidates stand?

    Date:

The Western Homelessness Network is the network of all specialist homelessness services in Melbourne’s west. We provided all Federal election candidates in the West with information about the housing crisis and asked them to respond to five questions about their commitment to ending the housing crisis.

You can see the full background information about the housing crisis in the West, that was circulated to the candidates here: wlasn-federal-housing-questions-march-25.docx

The table shows a ‘traffic light’ ranking of their responses against the questions asked. Labor, Liberal and Families First candidates did not respond to the request, so the ranking of their policy positions is drawn from their published policy positions (Our Policies – Family First Party Australia, More Affordable Homes – Liberal Party of Australia and Labor’s Commitment to Affordable Housing.

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.
