A BOOST TO YOUTH CONFIDENCE IN YARRAVILLE

    Date:

    Kids up front

Jennifer Monk is an actor based in Flemington with credits in film, theatre and television. She has been using her performing arts experience to teach drama to youth for the last thirteen years in Australia and abroad.

Jennifer and Kids Up Front Drama (KUF) give kids confidence! Their fun and dynamic drama classes really work to improve the communication skills of all participants, and they also promote teamwork and help to build self esteem.

“The classes allow students to join in at their own pace and level. It’s a great way for youth to open up their imaginations and trust that their ideas are valued and interesting,” says Jennifer.

KUF was founded in 1999 by Karin Clifford to provide a creative and fun after-school drama program designed to develop children’s confidence and self-esteem. NEW classes will start in Yarraville in Term 3 on Wednesdays.

Our content is a labour of love, crafted by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the west. We encourage submissions from our community, particularly stories about your own experiences, family history, local issues, your suburb, community events, local history, human interest stories, food, the arts, and environmental matters. Below are articles created by community contributors. You can find their names in the bylines.

    Did you know?

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.

If you loved reading this article please consider donating to the Westsider. Support from you gives local writers an outlet and ensures an independent voice can be found in the west.
