Tastes of the West is a small section where you will find a little review of restaurants in the western suburbs so you can plan your night in, or your night out, whatever your preference.
Foodstar Sunshine: 80 Harvester Rd, Sunshine. Phone: 9311 0833
Foodstar sunshine has a very bright and happy environment, with bubbly and friendly staff. The food is lovely with a variety of cuisines from seafood, Italian, Asian and – my personal favourite – the carvery, with roast ham and beef that melts in your mouth. For those with a sweet tooth there are cakes and slices, jellies and mousses topped off with soft serve.
La Porchetta: Shop 30, 13-15 Lake St, Caroline Springs. Phone: 8390 6763
The seating at La Porchetta Caroline Springs is very tight, so I sat outside. It was very nice with the fresh breeze, and the staff never forgot I was out there and were always asking if I needed anything. The food was divine, from the pasta to the pizza, and it’s a great place for a party. La Porchetta offers take out or dine in.
CoCoChine Restaurant & Bar: Shop 21, Caroline Springs Shopping Square, Lake Street, Caroline Springs. Phone: 8390 2188
This restaurant is one of my favourites. From the moment you walk in the door it’s very warm and elegant with the flowing waterfalls and the chinese décor. The service is fast and you get what you order and their black bean is the best I’ve had in my life. CoCoChine offers take out or dine in.
Seared Steak & Seafood: Shop 1, 29-35 Lake St, Caroline Springs. Phone: 9449 5673
Seared Steak & Seafood is a corner restaurant on a strip of mostly take out restaurants, but it’s clean with roomy seating inside and tables outdoors. They have a $12 lunch special which I have had many times as I wanted to try them all. The steak is mouth-watering and the pasta carbonara is so worth its value, with a creamy bacon sauce over whichever pasta you desire.
Master Wok Werribee: 65 Synnot St, Werribee. Phone: 9741 7007
At first, Master Wok Werribee seems to be just a small door tucked away. When you walk in all you see is a counter, but when shown to your seat you enter a room divided in two, with nice tables and the most charming staff I’ve come across in my life. The soft Asian music was calming and relaxing and at a pleasant level to talk to my dinner party. If you have a small appetite, order entrees as a full meal was very large and filling. Overall, the presentation was beautiful and the food, very fulfilling. Master Wok offers take out or dine in.
