WBCF VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR – LORI DRAKE

    Date:

Lori Drake has been named the 2021 Volunteer of the Year by the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation. After completing Daughters of the West (DOTW) as a participant in 2019, Lori decided to give back by offering her time as a Digital Connector and Online Program Help Volunteer throughout the last two years.

She played a key role in helping DOTW participants set up online – when COVID-19 forced all programs to be virtual in 2020 – walking many of them through the process over the phone. Lori continues to be a leader in her community, establishing walking groups to keep women in Hobsons Bay active and connected, and has continued her support of the DOTW program in both Laverton and Newport locations.

“Lori displays admirable levels of empathy and support to all participants, undertaking her role with minimal fuss,” General Manager – Community & Government Relations, Kashif Bouns, said.

“She constantly goes above and beyond with her efforts and actions, and was a clear stand-out as a worthy winner of our Volunteer of the Year award.”

Star midfielder and WBCF mentor Tom Liberatore announced the news via video, thanking Lori for her efforts and commitment to the DOTW program.
