STAR GUESTS AT WILLY LIT FEST

    Date:

The Willy Lit Fest is almost upon us, with a strong line-up featuring Kerry O’Brien, George Megalogenis, Chrissie Forster, Clementine Ford, Andy Griffiths, Matthew Condon, Tjanara Goreng and more.

Now celebrating its 16th year, it’s a chance to witness the coming together of some of Australia’s brightest authors and titles.

New Program Director Stella Kinsella said “The 2019 Willy Lit Fest will be hosting robust discussions, asking how we are travelling as a nation, what is the heart of the matter, whom do we trust? From voices in politics, media, screen to page, real life drama, survivors and champions, the young and younger still – the festival will seek the truth and get to the nub.”

The festival runs from the evening of Thursday 13 June until Sunday 16 June, and will kick off with an opening night event at Sebastian Beach Grill overlooking the Bay, with a special Festival Guest, the international bestselling author Caroline Overington.

Our content is a labour of love, crafted by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the west. We encourage submissions from our community, particularly stories about your own experiences, family history, local issues, your suburb, community events, local history, human interest stories, food, the arts, and environmental matters. Below are articles created by community contributors. You can find their names in the bylines.

    Did you know?

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.

If you loved reading this article please consider donating to the Westsider. Support from you gives local writers an outlet and ensures an independent voice can be found in the west.
