When Brian Epstein set foot in the Cavern Club in November 1961 to watch The Beatles perform, he saw something no one else could – a glimmer of gold. Sharply dressed and well-spoken, Brian was hardly the most obvious radical – but being Jewish, closeted and having grown up as an outsider who had failed at pretty much everything, he was a 26-year old with something to prove and who wanted to tear up the rulebook.

MIDAS MAN is the emotional, heartfelt and often funny story of how Epstein polished four scruffy lads who were going nowhere and in a matter of months turned them into a global phenomenon; of his unwavering belief in his artists and his tenacity in the face of getting turned down by every big record label; and of the style, guile and charm that allowed him to ‘break’ America and fundamentally change popular culture forever.

    MEGALOPOLIS

    Rating: CTC
    Duration: 138 mins
    Director: Francis Ford Coppola

    Genre: Drama, sci-fi
    Opens: Sept 26

This is a BIG film – huge ambition, Francis Ford Coppola has spent US$120 million of his own money to make this film that he says is the fable we need to see, his search for social justice and time for a reset.

Genius artist Cesar Catilina seeks to leap the City of New Rome into a utopian, idealistic future, while his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero, remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero, the mayor’s daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.

This is another hyperrealistic mind bending film from one of the masters of the big screen.

It’s been 36 years since the original Beetlejuice, and it’s one of the most welcome and anticipated sequels of our time – nearly all of the original cast is back – and I’m super excited.

After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return to the small Vermont town of Winter River. Paranormal empath, Lydia Deetz, begins to see the lecherous demon Beetlejuice, who haunted her as a teenager. His plans to finally marry Lydia are given extra urgency when his dead wife comes to life and begins to stalk the Afterlife hunting for him. Meanwhile, Lydia’s teenage daughter embarks on a romance with a local teen. Great to see Winona back, thanks Tim!

This is one hyperrealistic mind stretching film… Have you ever dreamt of a better version of yourself? You, only better in every way. You should try this new product, it’s called The Substance. With The Substance, you can generate another you: younger, more beautiful, more perfect. You just have to share time – one week for one, one week for the other. A perfect balance of seven days each… Easy right? If you respect the balance… What could possibly go wrong? After what seems like forever, Demi Moore is back, and she has given it all with no inhibitions… a cracking and twisted performance.

Destined to be a new Aussie family classic.

Based on Craig Silvey’s acclaimed novel, Runt is a heart-warming and humorous Australian family film set in the charming town of Upson Downs. The story revolves around eleven-year-old Annie Shearer, a resourceful girl with a knack for fixing things, and her best friend, Runt, an adopted stray dog with remarkable speed and agility. Their journey together begins with a simple act of kindness that cements an unbreakable bond between them.
