The 21st century has seen many technological advancements in a large number of fields. One of these fields, sports, has its technologically active counterpart, often known as motorsport. Motorsport is when high-tech vehicles meet high-performance athletes.
Examples of this are Formula 1, Le Mans, and NASCAR. Despite being completely different specs of series with different rules and racing, these all combine under the banner of motorsport. In addition to this, the digital world of motorsport also includes sim racing, which almost anyone can play or participate in.
Even official Formula One teams such as Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull all have their own respective Formula Sim Racing teams, which show an opportunity for Esports players to have a go on the world stage at something they are passionate about.
Motorsport also allows people who are engineers or team managers to have a go at something out of the ordinary, rather than working the typical white-collar office jobs. It also allows people to have a go at working at a place they are passionate about. In addition to this, it increases the job market for jobs that are lower in demand, such as people in hospitality or trackside staff.
Motorsport also introduces an era of autonomous sports. There has been a beginning of an era of robotic sports, which are beginning to gain popularity. Some of these include the Indy Autonomous racing challenge and Roborace, which were among the first autonomous motorsports introduced in the 21st century.
Motorsports is also an interesting set of series to follow, from the intricate rules and variation of Formula One, to the duel among the best drivers in IndyCar and MotoGP. Motorsport is truly the next big thing in the sporting world, and it is definitely something to pay attention to, especially if you are someone who has an interest in vehicles.
