Since moving to the western suburbs 21 years ago I’ve met and gotten to know an incredible bunch of people passionate about their neighbourhoods and their community. The Westsider is a reflection of that thriving community spirit.
During my thirty year media career I’ve lived in many communities around Australia and none have created a publication quite like The Westsider, which is testament to the determination and amazing efforts of the founding team which built it.
The Westsider is your paper, sharing your stories, in your voice. As the Editor I plan to continue The Westsider’s unique storytelling tradition and help grow the diverse community of storytellers that live in the west.
Over the next few months I hope to meet all of our contributors and volunteers, and plan to foster relationships with as many community groups as possible in an effort to discover and develop new writers, and unearth new stories.
