THE YOUTH JUNCTION INC FREE WORKSHOPS ARE BACK!

    Date:

Now that restrictions are easing, The Youth Junction are able to resume their social recreational and educational programs. Contact them for further information about these three standouts:

    Cut & Shine Barber Workshop

Their pre-accredited Barber program is open to young people who have an interest in learning the fundamentals of cutting hair, fading, hair art, customer service and OH&S procedures. Successful completion of the program can lead to further opportunities in education, training and/or employment in the world of barbering.

    Barista Workshop

The free Barista workshops are open for beginners and advanced participants. Participants will learn how to brew coffee, steam milk and create foam art, as well as customer service and money handling skills. OH&S procedures, resume writing support and how to conduct yourself in a job interview are also covered during the workshops.

    BOP Soccer Workshop

This is a free indoor soccer program for young people, held on a Friday night. This program offers an important social sport and recreation opportunity for young people from CALD backgrounds and helps gain skills to work as a team, build positive relationships and gain access to support, if needed.

The Youth Junction are very excited to start opening up and seeing the young people back in action!

Our content is a labour of love, crafted by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the west. We encourage submissions from our community, particularly stories about your own experiences, family history, local issues, your suburb, community events, local history, human interest stories, food, the arts, and environmental matters. Below are articles created by community contributors. You can find their names in the bylines.

    Did you know?

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.

If you loved reading this article please consider donating to the Westsider. Support from you gives local writers an outlet and ensures an independent voice can be found in the west.

If you're a business or community group, consider advertising in print or online, or becoming a community partner.
