Transurban’s General Manager for Victoria, Anup Jois, said the organisation was pleased to grow the program alongside delivering and opening the new West Gate Tunnel and upgraded West Gate Freeway.
“We’re always pleased to be able to support community causes around our roads, and 2025 was one of the best years yet – with an incredible group of recipients from Melbourne’s inner north, inner west and outer west,” Anup explained.
“The new tunnels have been open since December 2025, and we’re already seeing the benefits for the broader Melbourne road network and local communities in the west – with more than a million trips through the tunnels in its first six weeks, and trucks off local streets,” he added. “These grants are a wonderful way for us to provide additional assistance to locals that are doing amazing things to help their communities and address disadvantage.”
Community grants are available to not-for-profit organisations operating or delivering an initiative in a local government area located within 5 kilometres of a Transurban road. The 2026 program is due to open for applications around the middle of the year. For more information, visit transurban.com/communities.
