Are you a member of a political party, political group, or community advocacy group? (eg; Labor, Liberal, Greens, Socialist, My Place, Angry Victorians, Better West, environment groups, etc)

I am not a member of any political party. Party politics has no place in Local Government.

What is the most important issue facing your electorate?

The most critical issue facing my electorate is Traffic Congestion, condition of our roads, growth in our city with not enough facilities for our residents. Services for our youth and for our older residents.

Should/how can Council support local businesses?

Councils should support local businesses as small businesses employ the most people. More jobs.

Should/how can Council support local creatives and industries?

Councils should support creatives, the arts, and industries. Many people enjoy the arts and are creative.

Should/how can Council help alleviate the impact of climate extremes on local communities and ecosystems?

Councils should help alleviate this and can help by planting more trees and having open spaces. More solar panels. Beautiful gardens where residents can come and plant flowers and vegetables in the street.

Should/how can Council help alleviate cost of living and homelessness?

Homelessness is a concern, but this is more a State Government issue. State Government are coming into Cities and building high-rise through Public Housing Companies.

What should Council stop spending money on?

Councils can save money by cutting back on staff and lower the fees and charges on buildings. Many services need to be cut back also as they serve no purpose to the community

Should the public be allowed to ask live, unscripted questions of councillors during council meetings?

The public should be allowed to ask questions at the end of the council meetings. The way it is done now is useless. The residents have to submit the questions prior to the meeting and the CEO reads out the reply, residents do not appreciate this.

Can you please provide a short personal statement detailing what your priorities are if elected, and what your vision for your electorate looks like.

If elected to council, my focus is to spend more money on our roads, congested roads and capitals works. As the fastest growing city in Australia, we need new kindergartens, community centres, sporting ovals.

I will continue to work with police to ensure community safety and property security. Improve services for our older residents, education, health and champion business and employment opportunities

I demand transparency and financially responsible budgets. I will continue to uphold residential rights for all residents.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to reply to your questions.

On your behalf we have asked every candidate who put their hand up to stand in Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong and Wyndham the same set of questions that were formulated with the feedback of the Westsider readers.

Our thanks goes to first year RMIT Journalism students, who helped contact candidates as part of their final assessment in COMM2835, Journalism: Reporting and Writing.

A big shout out to Dr Josie Vine, a Westsider regular, who coordinated the project and Dr Sharon Smith who so graciously lent us her students and devised the activity as part of their assessment.
