The weather is warming up and lockdown is easing in Melbourne, so I thought I’d get all the right props ready as it’s the PERFECT time to crack it!

Hawkers are over in Reservoir, which isn’t west, but I know many people over this side of the bridge who seek out their flavourful beers.

Laymonada is a Mint, Lemon and Rosewater sour. Based on a traditional Lebanese drink, the brewery was keen to bring back some nostalgia.

It has plenty of funk and lemon in its aroma as you pour. The first sip is a refreshing combination of sour beer with fresh lemon juice.

At the back of the palate you get the twinge of mint and an ever so slight rosewater flavour. This is zippy and tart and fresh and delicious.

A delightful beer for the impending Spring weather.
