Bring along your broken or damaged items for repair by skilled volunteers with the tools and know-how to help.
Repairs are free! Coming along to the repair cafe is a great way to save money, reduce waste, learn new skills and meet others in the community interested in repairing and reusing everyday items.
We have repairers who are skilled in fixing:
Altona Repair Cafe runs once a month on Saturdays 12pm to 3pm – February to November.
If you have something that needs fixing, please email culture@ljac.com.au or call 9398 2511 to book a time to bring it along.
We also welcome volunteers with skills in repairing or an interest in learning how to repair. Altona Repair Cafe is a friendly and free community repair initiative that promote sustainability while bringing the community together.

The Westsider is an incorporated association operating as a not for profit. We’re an independent monthly community newspaper for the inner-western suburbs of Melbourne, powered by community journalism and publishing articles written by people who live and work in the inner west. There are many ways you can get involved.
The Westsider is run on the power of volunteers. Your contribution directly contributes to ensuring we can continue serving and celebrating our community.
The Westsider is created on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples of the Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders of all communities who also work and live on this land.
The Westsider is bound by the Standards of Practice of the Australian Press Council. If you believe the Standards may have been breached, you may approach The Westsider or make a complaint to the Australian Press Council in writing at www.presscouncil.org.au.
