It’s not the ‘KFC’ many of us grew up with, but over the years, Korean Fried Chicken has established itself as a favourite among many.
Buza Chicken in Maribyrnong Express is a quaint little store in Edgewater offering a delightful experience for fried chicken enthusiasts and fans of Korean cuisine. They are known for their crispy, flavourful fried chicken, delicately prepared to achieve the perfect balance of crunch, moist and tenderness.
Their chicken pieces are marinated for at least 12 hours and served with popular flavours such as the house signature ‘soy smoke’, original, sweet & spicy, snow cheese, or spring chicken.
The snow cheese is by far our favourite; basically, delightful pieces of fried chicken topped with sprinkles made of vegetable and cheese powder. Nothing beats chicken and chips, so do order yourself a serve of hot, crispy chips too.
We ordered a serve of their cheesy corn, a delicious side dish made with sweet corn, savory cheese, creamy mayonnaise, and sugar; cooked over melted butter, which gives it a fantastic aroma. A well-known side dish in Korean BBQ, it also serves as a tasty dip for chips and bread but tastes amazing on its own too.
In addition, we also got tteokbokki, a beloved Korean dish of soft, chewy rice cakes cooked in a spicy and savory sauce, along with some fish cakes. You can pick the level of spice you want. We opted for level two and it provided a good kick when balanced with some steam rice. We may try the higher levels next time. This key ingredient in this popular street food is gochujang, a Korean red chili paste which gives the dish its unique taste. Note: Avoid wearing a white top when consuming this as splatters are part of this comfort food in Korea!

Also note: their portions are generous, so their dishes are good value for money.
Conveniently located next to a bottle shop, Buza provides a perfect pairing for those looking to enjoy a meal with a refreshing drink.
While we were dining, many walked in to get burgers to go.
The atmosphere is casual yet inviting, making it an ideal spot for both quick bites or a hearty meal! This location is close enough to Burndap Park, perfect for a stroll to burn off the happy calories.
