    COMMUNITY PITCH 2019 LAUNCHED

    Date:

The Seddon Community Bank Branch is calling out to all community groups in the inner west region!

If you’ve got a community project or program that you need funded, as well as a sense of fun and creativity and are not afraid to get up in front of a crowd, then Community Pitch could be for you.

Last year the call went out and they were overwhelmed with applications from local community groups, sporting clubs, schools and organisations keen to be a part of the $28,000 prize pool donated by local businesses.

This year they’re setting the fundraising target to $40,000!!

With a new format, it’s their goal to not just provide funding but to also create greater community awareness for the amazing organisations that contribute to our local community.

They’re also looking to increase the number of Pitch Partners to ensure they reach their funding target.

If you’re part of a local business, this is a great opportunity for you to hear about community programs and projects, meet and build relationships amongst the community and choose the groups you want to support.

Our content is a labour of love, crafted by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the west. We encourage submissions from our community, particularly stories about your own experiences, family history, local issues, your suburb, community events, local history, human interest stories, food, the arts, and environmental matters. Below are articles created by community contributors. You can find their names in the bylines.

    Did you know?

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.

If you loved reading this article please consider donating to the Westsider. Support from you gives local writers an outlet and ensures an independent voice can be found in the west.
