Burnley Brewing – Dunkles Lager (5.2%)

Just out of the West lies Burnley Brewing (10 points if you guess where they’re located) who have just released the PERFECT Christmas-in-July beer. Also, the can art here is pretty spectacular.

Dunkles smells like chocolate and gingerbread. It tastes like the sweet, thin spiced biscuits that are shaped like flowers.

The malts play the starring role in this beer. It’s a beer you could sit around the fire with, playing board games and drink a few of without thinking twice.

(PS- As I typed this very short review, my glass is empty. It’s tasty.)

Our content is a labour of love, crafted by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the west. We encourage submissions from our community, particularly stories about your own experiences, family history, local issues, your suburb, community events, local history, human interest stories, food, the arts, and environmental matters. Below are articles created by community contributors. You can find their names in the bylines.

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.
