YARRAVILLE COMMUNITY CENTRE OFFERING THE INNER WEST FREE COURSES AND FOOD RELIEF PROGRAMS

    Date:

Community organisations have played a vital role in supporting the mental and physical health of Victorians through the challenges of the global pandemic; and The Yarraville Community Centre is no exception.

This vibrant community hub provides community services and support to more than 2000 people each week around inner-west Melbourne and has diversified their services to meet the needs of the community to help people get through this pandemic together.

“All Victorians deserve to live healthy happy lives regardless of their postcode, bank balance or their cultural background and we aim to strengthen community engagement and foster wellbeing with numerous free initiatives that our community can easily access”, says CEO Christine McCall, CEO The Yarraville Community Centre.

Whether it’s helping people stay connected, providing free nourishing meals or help to access financial support, The Yarraville Community Centre’s aim is to be responsive to community needs and provide opportunities that build resilience and community connections.

“Over the past 18 months we’ve seen incredible work being done to support our local community, from the dedicated volunteers delivering free healthy meals to people in need for our food relief program, to staff going above and beyond volunteering their time to teach their skills online as well as supporting vulnerable youths in our area and much more. I am very proud of the service we provide and will keep providing to our community,” says Christine.
