JOBS VICTORIA FUND – COLLINS & CO

    Date:

Are you considering hiring new staff? The Victorian government has just released details of Jobs Victoria Fund, which is effectively offering wage subsidies of up to $20k per eligible employee.

This is available for any employee who started after 16 March 2021. Check the links below for more detail:

There are number of details/fine print, however in summary, the scheme is mainly focussed on incentivising employing individuals either under age 25, above age 45, or those that have been long-term unemployed (i.e. more than 6 months).

There is also a category to incentivise employment of a worker living with a disability.

Unlike the ATO’s Jobmaker scheme, there is no requirement that employees were previously receiving Centrelink benefits prior to commencing employment, therefore in theory, should be easier to qualify.

If you would like to discuss further the ability to access the wage subsidy, please call please call Frank Legudi or Alysia West at Collins & Co on 03 9680 1000.

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.
