Anna Kolusniewski (affectionately known as ‘Anna K’) is one of our many fabulous short course tutors at Yarraville Community Centre Throughout the year, Anna runs workshops, courses and school holiday programs designed to educate and inspire…
Anna is recognised as one of Australia’s leading costume jewellery designers, and specialises in making costumes from unusual and recycled materials such as metal, beer bottle caps, tyre tubes and plastic to name a few. She also designs for film and theatre productions, and is regularly represented in exhibitions, fashion shoots and parades including Fashion Week.
After many years of working in the fashion industry, Anna’s passion for teaching and sharing her extensive knowledge in jewellery making and art and craft techniques has grown from teaching at schools to running classes and workshops at her own studio ‘Aa is for Art’ in South Kingsville and at YCC and other venues.
Having been teaching at YCC for the past 2 years, Anna has developed a following of dedicated art enthusiasts.
“I love sharing my knowledge gathered over many years of being an artist and inspiring people from all walks of life to create in a wide variety of different mediums. I am always on the lookout for a new technique or material I haven’t tried before, it keeps me on my toes and means I never get bored”.
Each term Anna runs a number of artistic courses and workshops at YCC including printmaking, lino cutting, candle making, polymer clay jewellery, Christmas gifts and her ever-popular resin cheese boards.
Students love her classes and are thrilled with the finished product.
“Anna is a fantastic teacher who makes it fun and easy to learn” said one student. “I’m so impressed with what I created!”
Anna will be running one day workshops and courses during term 4, as well as workshops for children these September school holidays. Head to www.ycc.net.au for more information.
