In BWC’s November Write Your Fu#%ing Heart Out workshop participants blew out creative cobwebs with a writing prompt activity before putting their heads down for two hours of deep focus writing. Participants were asked to write a prompt and place it on the table in front of them, then pick one and spend five minutes writing using a prompt written by someone else in the session.
HERE’S SOME WE PREPARED EARLIER …

BWC MEMBER RHYS MCRAE HAS A PLAN
Rhys McRae is a Footscray-based Bad Writers Club foundation member who is a persistent dabbler in many artforms. In the past he has written for music publications including Beat and Tonedeaf. He is now turning his attention to fiction, with plans to write a novel, or a collection of short stories, as well as poetry!
We can’t wait to see what is to come for Rhys and we hope BWC helps to bring his writing plans to fruition.
Rhys recently attended BWCs Write Your Fu#%ing Heart Out deep focus writing session and used this writing prompt dreamt up by another participant: I have a plan …

USING IMAGES TO INSPIRE YOUR WRITING PRACTICE
Renee Gauci is a Footscray-based artist who approaches her illustrations in a whimsical manner. Everyday thoughts, interactions, and experiences inspire her work. Renee’s work has been exhibited in Melbourne and Japan, and she is currently working with Mighty Writing Co on her next project, a picture book.
Renee attended a recent Bad Writers Club workshop, and her beautiful illustrations prompted a great conversation about how images can be used as writing prompts.
Renee has kindly allowed us to share this illustration, which we think makes an excellent prompt.
TRY IT YOURSELF!
Take a look at this gorgeous illustration by Footscray-based artist Renee Gauci and have a go at writing a creative piece using it as inspiration.
We’d love to read what you come up with, so please share your writing with us on Instagram @badwriters.club.
