WIDER, STRONGER, SAFER DYNON RD BRIDGE RAPIDLY TAKES SHAPE

    Date:

West Gate Tunnel Project crews are working around the clock widening the Dynon Road bridge.

As part of these works, Dynon Road is currently closed between the inbound CityLink exit ramp and Dryburgh Street in North Melbourne until 7am Thursday 31 August.

During the Dynon Road closure, we are widening and strengthening the Dynon Road bridge by removing existing barriers and the outer deck of the bridge, before installing new steel beams, constructing a new concrete road deck and installing new barriers and anti-throw screens.

When the project is finished, Dynon Road will be wider with a turning lane to the tunnels, giving drivers a new way to travel between the city and the west. A new dedicated walking and cycling path will also give cyclists safer access from the city to some of Melbourne’s existing cycling networks in the west.

    Thank you for your patience

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.
