Are you a member of a political party, political group, or community advocacy group?
No I’m not a member of any political party, I have recently stepped back from the local residents Facebook page that I created in 2021 and have administered since.
What is the most important issue facing your electorate?
I believe it is the cost of living and lack of connection within the community.
Should/how can Council support local businesses?
I believe local businesses should be supported by council rather than businesses that are located elsewhere.
Should/how can Council support local creatives and industries?
There are many opportunities for creatives in this area, local murals for example and events to connect the community.
Should/how can Council help alleviate the impact of climate extremes on local communities and ecosystems?
Prioritise maintaining green spaces, mature tree cover and promoting programs such as seed sharing, community gardens etc.
Should/how can Council help alleviate cost of living and homelessness?
Yes, the council should help alleviate both of these things. How to do so is very complex but it should be a priority of the council to address.
What should the Council stop spending money on?
Ensure the outsourcing of work/council responsibilities is being completed adequately and be quick to resolve any issues with reliability/quality of service to help reduce unnecessary spending.
Should the public be allowed to ask live, unscripted questions of councillors during council meetings?
The set up of council meetings currently makes this difficult. The public is currently allowed to ask any question of council immediately prior to council meetings which are essentially “unscripted”.
