Mr Banks Brewing Co, review by Emily Speakman
Do you like parties? Is the best bit cake? Well then, this is the beer for you.
Local craft beer bar/store Hopheads (with venues in Point Cook, Altona and now Yarraville) collaborated with Mr Banks to create Pineapple Party Cake; A DDH Oat Cream DIPA (For those playing at home the acronyms are Double Dry Hopped and Double India Pale Ale).
The hops in this beer (Talus and Citra) give off some grapefruit and citrus aromas.
The flavour is enhanced by added pineapple juice…and that is what it tastes like. An upside-down pineapple cake with a big old scoop of ice cream.
Be warned, at 8%, it’s probably one for the weekend.
