Yarraville Community Centre’s (YCC) aim is to support, share resources and skills to ensure our community needs are met. Currently there are many free community services and resources offered by the centre that may assist you with your day-to-day needs.
Listed below are just some of the community services that you or people you know may benefit from at YCC:
Reconnecting – Getting Out and About
The project will connect 25 adults, aged 50+ through participation in indoor and outdoor group activities that seek to promote social connectedness and a positive sense of wellbeing. For example, activities will include excursions and activities lead by the participants.

Common Ground – Community Garden Project
Would you like to meet with community members to establish a community garden at Yarraville Community Centre? YCC is seeking a youth group 12-16 years and a group of 60+ community members to participate.

Carers Employment Support Program
This program will support carers to enter or re-enter the workforce, undertake vocational training, or up-skill to become job ready. This includes pre-employment mentoring to build confidence, practical assistance such as respite and material support, resume writing, carer relief, and support to help carers maintain employment.
Food Relief Markets – In need of essentials?
Join us at one of our pop-up markets
YCC will be hosting a food relief market for those in need of assistance with food and essentials. The market will be held in the car park located at 59 Francis Street between 10am – 12.30pm on Wednesday 1st March, Wednesday 19th April, Wednesday 17th May
If you’re in need, please come by and select your own free produce from the stalls and get access to any of the support services available.
Food Pantry – Pantry items available to pick up for those in need
The food pantry is located in a safe, friendly, and dignified environment at 59 Francis Street, Yarraville and the groceries are available to pick up at any time for anyone in need of extra support or assistance. It is open always 24/7. Take what you need and leave what you can.
Free Child Car Restraint Fitting
Book in for a free child care seat restraint fitting or safety check at YCC. The service is conducted in the car park at 59 Francis Street, Yarraville every second Tuesday. The service is hosted by Kid Safe Victoria in partnership with Neighbourhood Houses Victoria with support from the Victorian State Government. Bookings are essential via YCC website.
Electricity Bill Support for Residents – $250 Power Saving Bonus
Electricity bill support for residents has been extended until 30 June 2023! YCC is helping community members apply for the State Government’s $250 Power Saving Bonus, a one-off payment to help eligible Victorians experiencing energy bill stress.
The Nourish Project – Free frozen meals
The Nourish Project rescues surplus food from landfill and transforms this donated food into nutritious meals which are distributed and provided free to people in need.

Good Shepherd’s No Interest Loans (NILs)
The Yarraville Community Centre is thrilled to work with and support the community by acting as a support and referral point for Neighbourhood Houses Victoria and the Good Shepherd’s No Interest Loan Program.
Victorian Sick Pay Guarantee
You may be eligible for 38 hours a year sick and carer’s pay for casual and contract workers. YCC can help you check your eligibility, sign up and access this free program.
Chat with your local community at our Chatty Café meet ups
People, like you, from our community will come together to talk and connect in a safe and friendly space while they drink a cuppa and enjoy a conversation. Adults from all walks of life, diverse backgrounds and cultures are warmly welcomed.
