Everyone knows and loves Footscray Savers. Right in the heart of The ‘Scray, Savers is huge and super easy to travel to. It’s also surrounded by countless restaurants and amazing specialty stores and salons so well worth a day’s trip.
Savers is located a short 350-metre walk from Footscray train station and is right across the road from a car park for those who prefer to drive. The car park is free for three hours if you spend $15 in Footscray plaza which includes Coles and Kmart so is a perfect opportunity to do a bit of grocery shopping at the same time.
Footscray Savers is MASSIVE and absolutely has something for everybody. One shopper told me that they come home with at least one item that they love almost every time they shop here.
From clothes, to books and toys, and even furniture, if you’re on a mission for a particular item you’ll probably find it at Savers. It’s such great fun searching through all the items, not to mention the rush you feel when you find something you love.
Not only does second hand shopping reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill, many op shops also direct a percentage of profit towards charity. While Savers Australia is owned by the US for-profit retailer Savers Value Village Inc, it does partner with local non-profits. At Footscray the store’s profits go towards Red Nose Australia. So it’s a win-win-win!
Because Footscray Savers is renowned it can be hard to find good stuff but if you drop in regularly it won’t be long before you snag a bargain. The store is open seven days a week so there is plenty of time to check it out!
