Create Your Own GIF-ITI with INSA

Wyndham City is pleased to welcome INSA to Werribee for a hands-on creative workshop at the Wyndham Cultural Centre this October.
UK-based artist INSA is known globally for his innovative and technically complex art installations, with a practice spanning large-scale public artworks, digital media, design and commercial projects. In 2010, he pioneered GIF-ITI, a meticulous process of repeatedly repainting and photographing murals to create animated GIFs, later integrating augmented reality to bring these works back into the physical environment. His work explores time, space, consumption and transience, with GIF-ITI remaining a defining element of his practice.
In this practical skills development workshop, INSA will introduce you to the creative process behind GIF-ITI and guide you through the techniques used to create your own animated artwork.
Explore how painting, photography, movement and digital processes can be combined to create a looping artwork that evolves frame by frame.
The workshop is an opportunity to experiment with a new creative approach while learning directly from an internationally recognised artist.
It is suited to emerging and established creatives, including artists, designers, illustrators, photographers and animators, as well as anyone interested in exploring contemporary art and digital creative practice.
This is an interactive workshop. Participants will be moving around outside for a period of time. Please dress for the weather. Please contact us if you would like to discuss any access needs.
