Deer Park Salvos

Date:

Deer Park Salvos makes a great addition to your westside op shopping spree.

Located just 60 metres from two great op shops already spoken about, The Brotherhood of Saint Laurence and the Spare Change Warehouse, this collection of stores makes a great day of op shopping, with many more close by yet to be discussed!

While it’s just a 20 minute drive from Footscray it might be harder to get to without a car as there are no train stations nearby. Instead you have to get two buses resulting in a nearly 50 minute journey.

But this area is definitely worth the trip and this store does not let us down, in fact it might just be my favourite!

It is huge but so easy to navigate, divided perfectly into sections, presenting you with pretty much everything you need!

It has a really fabulous selection of furniture in the back section of the store, with really amazing items to add to your home. Something that really caught my eye was a huge, beautifully designed cabinet, and what shocked me was the perfect condition of all of the pieces!

From couches to lounge chairs, tables to bookshelves, this store has literally every piece of furniture you could want.

It also has a lovely selection of artworks, smaller knick-knacks and crockery. Again, perfect for someone adding to their home.

In addition they have a great selection of entertainment items; books, movies, music and games. The perfect place to come to find something to entertain the whole family.

Most importantly, the clothing section of this store is amazing! They have so many stunning shoes and bags! I even took a few home for myself.

With the summer weather, I’ve really been looking for some nice sandals, and this store did not let me down! With a whole wall lined with shelf after shelf of stunning shoes it was hard to decide on just one pair to take home.

The bags are the same: just a whole wall of shelves, packed with beautiful bags. Something that I have been seeing a lot and loving this summer are studded bags and this store actually has a couple of really cool ones so I took home a nice brown one for myself.

Finally, the clothes. I was really impressed with the range of clothes in this shop. Like the bags, they have lots of options and styles for any occasion and a great range of sizes too.

The one thing I didn’t love about this op shop was that some sections are not organised by size, but by colour. While this is great if you’re looking for a particular colour, it makes it hard when you’re after a specific size.

Aside from that, the store is really fabulous. My favourite of the clothing sections is the formal wear section. It has some really beautiful dresses and separate pieces that would be great for a fancy occasion.

Overall, I really love this store and will definitely be making a regular visit. And being a Salvos store means your purchases help fund Salvation Army programs that “transform lives for the better”.

So, when shopping in places like this, you’re not only treating yourself to a great day of treasure hunting, you’re also helping others out.
