    COMFORT CARE FOUNDATION

    Date:

The Comfort Care Foundation’s Café at 40 Leeds St Footscray fosters the spirit of community – welcoming, supportive and a safe space for anyone who needs it.

They help feed Footscray’s homeless community, and recently started a ‘Pay it Forward’ program, where anyone can leave a gift to go towards a coffee, soup, chapatti or even a couple of meals for someone unable to pay.

“Because we Care”, is the motto at CCF, with a vision to bring comfort, hope & benevolent relief to disadvantaged groups including young people, women, children & people with disabilities & the poor.

With your help they will reduce social inequalities and homelessness, and be a support for disadvantaged people as well as victims of abuse.

Comfort Care always welcomes volunteers, businesses, organisation’s and community groups to partner with them. They we will be hosting a fundraising dinner on the 17th of September to raise funds towards the cause.

Our content is a labour of love, crafted by dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the west. We encourage submissions from our community, particularly stories about your own experiences, family history, local issues, your suburb, community events, local history, human interest stories, food, the arts, and environmental matters. Below are articles created by community contributors. You can find their names in the bylines.

    Did you know?

It's hard to find local stories because major news suppliers have economised by cutting local journalism. In addition, social media algorithms mean we have to work doubly hard to be seen.

If you loved reading this article please consider donating to the Westsider. Support from you gives local writers an outlet and ensures an independent voice can be found in the west.

If you're a business or community group, consider advertising in print or online, or becoming a community partner.
