Twenty-four weeks and what an incredible outcome for four young Barbers! Young people who have faced challenges in their lives have successfully completed our 24-week CAS Barbering pre-accredited program. Congratulations and what a remarkable achievement!
The Youth Junction Inc. CAS (Cut and Shine) pre-accredited 24-week program (12 weeks for Beginner and 12 weeks as Intermediates) framework has offered a viable solution to the reduction of crime and anti-social behaviours in young people’s lives by providing a positive, non-judgemental environment, where young people can gain hard and soft skills in the art of barbering which in turn, changes their behaviour and aims to build positive and pro-social structures within their lives.
The Visy Cares Hub provides a diverse range of youth services to more than 18,000 young people annually in Melbourne’s western region and houses 20 not-for-profit organisations.
The program so far has given young people an opportunity to achieve strong barbering skills, hands-on experience with real customers, receive intensive training and employability skills through a trained educator who is a master of the craft.
The graduation for these fantastic young people was held on Wednesday 18th July, when they were awarded with a certificate of participation and gift. The day featured the launching of the CAS video and participants showcased their skills with free haircuts followed by refreshments!
