Very recently “Melbourne Bengali Association (MELBA)” had arranged and epitomised its biggest event “Annual Durgotsav” on 3rd, 4th & 5th of October 2014 at Mossfiel Primary School, Langridge Drive, Hoppers Crossing.
Established as a Multicultural, Multi-religious not for profit society, it is to celebrate occasions and festivity as in India, where festivals occupy an important place in our cultural mosaic bringing utmost joy and happiness to all of us.
They also imbibe the noble virtues of peace and harmony, human compassion, universal brotherhood and selfless service towards the society in general. They had a fabulous Cultural Event, graced by Cr. Gautam Gupta of Wyndham Council to set off the chain of events to follow year after year. They also had awesome Magic show enthralling not only the kids present but the adults as well, performance by a Samoan Dance group, dancers from the Tatva group and their own little members from all over the diaspora performing from popular foot-tapping Bollywood numbers and religious dance.
Durga puja reminds us all a very childhood memory of all the Hindu festivals. The Goddess Durga herself is an embodiment and personification of all virtues that are good, intelligence, power and mercy and also epitomises the victory of good over evil.
It was indeed a matter of pride for all of us that “Melbourne Bengali Association” (MELBA) has now stepped up to celebrate Durga Puja from this year. a continuous support in the past 12 months to nurture this organisation to a stage where it is now. Still in the crawling stage, we are confident that you will again see a similar kind of treatment & services that MELBA is widely known for i.e. meet and greet with open hearted, mutual respect, ethics and an elegant decorum in and around you.
Being responsible community members and respected citizen of the fastest growing Wyndham Council, you all would be the pillars of strength and motivation for us. We wouldn’t have been able to deliver to you, unless you had shown your enthusiasm and faith in us.
We had been the most blessed to have had your input and guidance all these recent times to build MELBA up to its fine reputation as it is today.
