Tucked away in Keilor East is this local gem, The East Pantry. With a 4.4 star rating on Google, from over 800 reviews, I can see why my fellow westside friends were keen to introduce us to their new brunch favourite. Attentive staff, a generous sized space, plenty of outdoor seating and coffee from carbon neutral coffee brand Five Senses, it was a delightful way to catch up with a group.
Feeling a bit peckish after a late night prior, I ordered the steak sandwich. A perfectly cooked soft scotch fillet was surrounded by gruyere, mushroom ragu, mustard and tomato and served with a satisfying amount of chips.
The hot favourite for the table was the chilli scramble – it packed a tasty punch with heat from sujuk (a type of spicy fermented sausage), chilli oil and sriracha.
East Pantry covers your breakfast and lunch needs on Monday and Tuesday, then adds dinner to its offering from Wednesday to Sunday. A tasty looking cake and pastry cabinet, an extensive drinks list and a reasonably priced menu means that you can enjoy the offerings of The East Pantry for any occasion.
