    YCC SKILLS FIRST RECONNECT

    Date:

The Yarraville Community Centre’s (YCC) Skills First Reconnect program offers clients aged between 17 – 64 who did not complete secondary schooling, have been unemployed for over 2 years and have not previously completed a certificate II or higher course, the opportunity to work with a YCC Reconnect coach for 18months on a study and training pathway that will deliver employment opportunities.

In the last 12 months this program has supported 130 clients and proudly and consistently delivered sustainable positive outcomes for our 80% of clients on our caseloads. Based on these successful outcomes for clients, the Department of Education (Victoria) awarded our program 30 extra registrations. YCC are very pleased to say that every one of these additional registrations have been filled.

Grace, a Reconnect client said “I would never have had the self-belief and confidence to undertake my Certificate II in hospitality without the support and encouragement from my Reconnect coach. The help with the costs meant I could start and finish the course and secure better pay with more stable employers in the restaurant industry.”

The dedicated YCC Reconnect Coaches feel privileged to work closely with young people to help work them make positive changes in their lives.

The YCC Skills First Reconnect program is not accepting any new registrations at the moment but stay tuned for further information.
