Westsider Radio is launching and we need your help to make it happen!

Our recording studio will be up and running in May, and an app will follow.
In the meantime, there we are looking for your help.

The following volunteer positions are available

Each position would require up to three hours per week.
No radio experience? No problem! Passion and enthusiasm matter most.

Station Manager

Want to be at the heart of running a community radio station? Keep things running smoothly and help build our station from the ground up.

  • Oversee the overall running of the station, ensuring everything stays on track.
  • Support volunteers, keep things organised, and help the team work together.
  • Help build awareness of the station and attract contributors aligned to our mission statement.

Music Manager

Are you passionate about music and discovering new artists?Curate a unique sound for our station and support local artists.

  • Curate and manage our music library, ensuring a diverse and engaging mix.
  • Engage with local musicians, DJs and bands to feature their music.
  • Keep playlists fresh and aligned with our station’s music policy.
  • Ensure compliance with music licensing requirements.

Great for: Music lovers with a good ear and some knowledge of licensing and digital music management.

Program Manager

Love storytelling and radio content? Develop and schedule shows that bring our community to life.

  • Recruit and support community contributors.
  • Ensure diverse voices are included in programming.
  • Schedule (and possibly develop) live radio programs and podcasts aligned with our mission statement.

Great for: Organised creatives who enjoy planning content and working with different voices.

Technical Manager

Enjoy problem-solving and working with tech? Manage the tech that keeps us on air.

  • Oversees the station’s streaming, software, and webcasting infrastructure.
  • Ensures accessibility and smooth operation of tech systems.

Great for: Anyone with IT, audio, or webcasting tech knowledge who likes a challenge.

Studio Manager

Excited about recording and audio production? Oversee our recording space and support presenters.

  • Maintain and oversee the recording and broadcasting space.
  • Ensure the studio is ready for live and pre-recorded sessions.
  • Assist presenters and guests with using the equipment.

Great for: Tech-savvy people with a hands-on approach to audio equipment and recording.
