Community Pitch is celebrating its 6th year in 2020, with nearly $110,000 donated to support 83 local community programs and projects. Since 2015, forty-eight local community groups, organisations, sporting clubs and schools have pitched to an audience of forty-four businesses to raise funds for their programs and projects, many of which would not happen without the support of Community Pitch.
For community groups, it’s a great opportunity to fund your latest program or project and also collaborate with local businesses and other organisations. For businesses it’s a wonderful way to donate and get face to face with the people you’re supporting while also helping your local community.
Jennifer Cook from Western Health Collective has just signed up for her third year as a Pitch Partner. Not only has she supported Community Pitch by donating to the event, but she has also built strong connections with community groups such as the Women’s Circus and the Tonj Women’s Association to continue to support them throughout the year.

Louise Taylor from CWA Footscray has had the unusual experience of being both a community group seeking funding and a pitch partner. In 2017, the CWA pitched for $500 for an oven so they could run their cooking and baking programs. They were overwhelmed with donations, beyond what they needed to purchase an oven, so in 2018 they returned as Pitch Partners to donate back to other community groups in need.
