The doors of West Footscray’s beloved Women’s Circus may be shut for now, but the lockdown hasn’t stopped them from continuing to entertain the masses. Since the initial shutdown in March, Women’s Circus has shifted gears, launching a suite of online classes, and dug into their archive of critically acclaimed shows.
Since 1991 Women’s Circus has created over 35 magnificent shows to sell out audiences. While we can’t gather to experience live circus right now, they’re inviting you to take a trip down memory lane as they dusting off a few treasures from their past with their Sunday Circus Cinema series.
On the last Sunday of the month Women’s Circus premiers a show from their digital archive on YouTube, followed by a live Q & A interview with cast and crew from the featured show. Grab some popcorn, get cosy and tune in! Catch up on previous releases ‘The Penelopiad’ (2016), and ‘Ghosts’ (2003) ahead of this month’s premier.
Once these shows have boosted your circus spirit and inspired you, jump online and sign up to Women’s Circus suite of online classes and training videos. Your chance to (virtually) run away with the circus, and a unique way to build strength, new skills, and confidence while fighting off the lockdown blues from the comfort of your own home.
